GDASS has a dedicated Health Trainer who supports healthcare professionals in Gloucestershire to improve Domestic Abuse early identification and risk assessment.

We develop bespoke training packages, tailored to your area of practice and the needs of your patients, which can be delivered virtually or in person.

Health professionals will often be best placed to victims about their experience of domestic abuse and respond, record, safety check, and refer.

The GDASS Health Trainer also co-ordinates the GP Champion Network, helping to build and maintain effective relationships with general practice teams across the county. The GP Champion Network aims to identify a practice domestic abuse Champion and provide specialist training for those in the champion role. The GP Development Worker will support the Champions to promote referrals to GDASS and put in effective support for victims of domestic abuse.
